The Good Neighbor Report  May 2011

Greetings in our Lord and Savior’s name, Jesus Christ, who is full of power and glory.  We know He is the author and perfecter of each and everything in life.  Nothing can come to pass unless he has ordained it to do so at His own time and place.  I do thank the Living God who has enabled you to resume the help to the children of TGN project after a period of silence and through experience it is only you who has been trying to mobilize funds and fulfill your promises.  School life has been resurrected to normal for most of the children who have been struggling due to lack.

When the money was sent, Sister Natalie came and informed me and we planned together to go and buy the requirements such that the fellowship would take place on the above given date, which really came to pass.  Because of the current inflation, we prioritized the items to buy, especially the most and immediately required.  When we went tot buy most commodity prices had shot up and we were forced to leave out shoes, shoe polish, shoe brush, and socks in favor of books, pens, other scholastic material and fellowship meal.

The fellowship took place on the above date and it began at 10:30 am and 83 children of the good neighbor attended.  For those who didn’t attend, some had lost a relative in family, others were sick and tow had cone in distant places.  The day began colorfully and both the TGN and LCH children were very happy to meet and play together again.  The following was the order of the events:

9:00-10:00 am                    The Good Neighbor children arrived at Pastor David’s house

10:00-10:30                         They came to LCH and all had breakfast together

10:30-11:30                         Official welcoming of children and replacing by pairing those children, whose

friends had died, married or left because of problems in their homes.

11:30-12:00                         Praising and worshipping together of the children followed by short opening prayer

12:00-1:00                           Taking measurements for TGN’s uniform while others were playing together

1:00-2:00                              Having lunch

2:00-2:30                              Sharing of the word from Matthew 6:33: putting God first before anything else

2:30-3:30                              Continuation of taking measurements as others played

3:30—4:00                           Word of thanks by one of the TGN children representative and LCH representative

4:00-4:10                              Speech by one of the mothers of LCH who thanked TGN for their visit

4:10-5:00                              Closing remarks by Pr. David, taking sodas and getting gifts.

It was a joyous day for most of the children except those (LCH) who were sick and were unable to attend the fellowship.

The gifts given were, all the scholastic materials, hygiene kit, but the uniform is being made to be given later.  This gave hope to the TGN children because some of them had failed to meet their school requirements.  When I met some of the parents of TGN children, they were happy as they testified that they had failed to buy the given things and their children were from time to time being sent home for lack.  They also said that the skin of the children had for long stopped glittering due to lack of Vaseline.

Most children had also expected to get the shoes but we only prompted them any other time if funds will be available and we told them to be thankful and be contented with what they have got.

Thanks for all your endeavors.  God bless you so much.

Yours in service,

Pastor David
